Comic Con Increases Security in San Diego

Jul 22, 2016 Marisa Ray

The San Diego Comic Con is currently taking pace and security is at an all time high.

The convention started on Wednesday, July 20, and will run for the weekend. Police have been planning for months, and have increased security measures for the event. With over 200 thousand predicted attendees, Comic Con is the largest annual convention for San Diego.

With the recent terrorist attacks in France police have stepped up their security. This year they expect more police present then ever before, with new measures including under covers, and surveillance equipment. The costumes and pretend weapons are cause for concern and add to the police’s decision to increase security.

With no major issues at the Pride celebration the previous week, police are hoping for the same at this year’s Comic Con.
